Useless, smelly mess!

Did nothing for me except smell EXTREMELY bad, stain my skin (tried several recommended remedies and nothing has worked yet), and make a mess. Granted, this is my first experience with henna, and it's likely going to be my last time. It's funny; it smelled something like green tea until liquid was added, and then everything changed. I wish I had read more reviews or that the reviews I read could have mentioned this. In the end, despite me folllowing the directions to the letter, the henna rinsed out and my hair is as it was before I started. Now I'm just going to cut it off because I'd rather do that than try it again because of the awful smell (wet dog) and because it's difficult to find permanent black dye in the country I live in. What a disappointment.

My hair is so lucious!

This product worked very well for me! I've been using the Persian black henna hair color for about 6 months and this is my 4 time putting on my hair! I have it on right now! Of course with each use and browsing the web I have found ways to make it more effective! I have naturally dark brown hair and I've been dying it for years! For as long as I can remember and I don't have any gray hairs yet so I can't say what it does for that..well box color fades too quick to a color I never like. Since using this my hair is such a pretty rich toned dark color! And doesn't even fade to a reddish color like box dye does! It has my made my hair thicker and stronger I feel like with each use. What I personally do (and it's time consuming) and do on a day where I have the entire day free but it's well worth it to me! I actually heat activate the henna in the oven! Yes, you heard it! I pour me mixture in a glass bowl and I have really long hair so you kind of have to figure out how much you'll need to use on your own after trying it out! But once I pour the henna in the bowl I add two eggs and hot fresh black coffe and avocado oil and apple cider vinegar! The key is to shampoo your hair and maybe even do a vinegar rinse with the ratio half water half vinegar...make sure it's damn and brushed out! But once I get the mix at the right consistencacy I preheat the oven to 150-170 and I bake it for an hour! I take it out and section my hair and try to get my hair as saturated as possible...once I get my entire hair (and it's super messy!) I put it up in a plastic cap..and leave it between 8-12 hours! I like to leave it in as long as possible as the longer you leave it in it penetrates the hair and on and off I'll put a hair dryer to The cap and heat my hair up! When I rinse it I try to rinse as much of it out with Just water before I shampoo then proceed to shampoo

Smelly and messy

I really wanted to like this, because it's natural and super cheap, but unfortunately it's not for me. Despite carpeting the bathroom in towels, it made a big ol' mess applying to my hair and trying to keep it on my hair (rather than trickling out of the plastic wrap and down my face) for the decades you need to let it do its thing. It also smelled like a herby ashtray, and the whole house ponged from it. The colour was fine although my hair was left looking a bit dull, and worst of all my scalp is still itchy three days later and my hair still smells after washing twice. I don't even have a sensitive scalp, so there's something in this that my skin obviously doesn't like. I'm going to stick with the Suriya henna dyes, which are more expensive and not as 'natural' but heaps easier to apply and leave my hair shiny.
