The Benefits of Coenzymated Sublingual Vitamins

In order for vitamins to be utilized by the body, they must first be converted into their active coenzyme forms. This Coenzymated sublingual B-6 goes directly into your bloodstream in its active form, ready to go to work immediately. This avoids the loss that may occur not only during digestion, but during the liver's conversion process as well. Pyridoxal-5'-Phosphate (PLP or P-5'-P) is the main metabolically active coenzyme form of vitamin B-6. It is primarily in the liver that P-5'-P is synthesized from pyridoxine, with the help of enzymes that require B-2, zinc and magnesium for their activity. P-5'-P is associated with numerous enzymes, many or which are involved in the conversion of amino acids into the neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin. P-5'-P is also required for the synthesis of the hemoglobin molecule.

Suggested Use

Very important vitamin for aged people with MTHFR and MTRR

Posted by iHerb Customer on November 23 2017 | Verified Purchase

After 55 years of age, the levels of B6 and the ability to get enough B vitamins diminishes. This vitamin B6 helps to speed up at least at least 100 enzyme reactions, and resets so to speak the methylation cycles. Also, it is the activated form that some individuals (my husband) cannot make on their own, so they virtually depend on this particular edition. That said, Iherb made it very confusing when Source Naturals changed the name from sublingual to lozenges. Those words are not synonymous, even though some think that they are. I was ignored by Iherb when I asked for an explanation, but did finally receive an answer from Source Naturals. A lozenge is taken on the tongue; sublingual under the tongue. Apparently, FDA had something to do with the change of classification. Confusing, but at least it works! :)

Mild minty flavour

Posted by herbiina on August 1 2017 | Verified Purchase

This product has a mild minty flavour. It tends to stain your tongue and the taste lingers in your mouth for a while - which doesn't bother me because it's not a bad taste. However, I don't recommend brushing your teeth straight after taking it so your not brushing away what you haven't absorbed yet. Also because the flavours of the tablet tend to clash with toothpaste flavour!

The mint burnt my mouth

Posted by iHerb Customer on June 29 2017 | Verified Purchase

The mint flavour is way too strong, it actually slightly burnt my mouth tissues. I can't imagine taking this for 120 days so will have to throw it out. I would prefer the smallest possible size of lozenge with only xylitol as sweetener and a bit of natural strawberry flavour.

Tastes bad

Posted by shelleymedwards on November 30 2016 | Verified Purchase

I bought this since my daughter doesn't like taking pills. I tried a tablet and it tasted so bad that chasing it with something sweet was not enough to cover up the taste,
