Product Overview

Description

  • Non-GMO
  • From Birch Tree††
  • Xylitol Low Calorie & Low Glycemic Sweetener

†† Not Genetically Modified.

XyliSmart xylitol is a healthy sugar substitute. It may reduce the risk of tooth decay in the mouth, which is promoted through frequent consumption of in-between-meal snacks that are high in sugar and starches. XyliSmart xylitol is known as a low-glycemic index (GI) sweetener due to its slow absorption into the bloodstream, which does not result in rapid changes in blood glucose concentrations. XyliSmart xylitol looks and tastes as sweet as sugar, but with less calories and without any of the downside of sugar, and delivers a cool, refreshing aftertaste.

Suggested Use

As a sugar substitute, add in amounts satisfactory to your taste. For optimal anti-cavity benefits, take 1 teaspoon 3 to 5 times per day.

Other Ingredients

100% pure xylitol (from birch tree).

XYLITOL IS A GREAT PRODUCT

Posted by Reviewer1434258 on Apr 19, 2017 | Verified Purchase

XYLITOL is a sugar alcohol with a glycemic index of 7. Best of all, it doesn't use any insulin. So Xylitol tastes sweet and no stress tothe pancreas. Xylitol has anti-cavity properties and is reputed to heal cavities. I mix Xylitol with water and glycerin to make a simple mouthwash I use at bedtime. The glycerin moisturizes the mouth, and this alone fights cavities at night. Add to this the anti-bacterial action and healing action of Xylitol and the protection is greater. Finally add a small amount of Oil of Oregano or Tree Tea Oil to the formula, and the mouthwash has a powerful effect upon the enamel and the gums. For daytime use, replace the anti-bacterial Oil of Oregano with a drop of peppermint oil for refreshing breath. Xylitol, your mouth's best friend, has been around since the 1940's at least, and is made naturally from the bark of the Birch tree. Avoid Xylitol made form GMO corn from China.

Non-GMO, not from corn, and doesn't leave me with a nasty after-taste when I bake with it - will definitely be ordering again :-)

Although, this is the first time using Xylitol, this product seems to be doing the job for me. I make a tooth powder concoction, by mixing baking soda, salt and Xylismart - cleans my teeth well!

Could xylitol be another hoax, like agave nectar & cause tooth loss in the end?

This product comes with an outer shrink wrap and inner seal, however my inner seal was half way undone and off the container. There is no little scoop inside (bummer) and the product is very white, crystals about the size of granulated sugar and free-flowing. First thing that surprised me is the cooling effect without mint. This is very refreshing, very sweet, tastes even better than real sugar. I did some research: even doctor Mercola praises birch xylitol. Then I went to see what Ramiel Nagel had to say about this. Let's just say it's not positive and echoes my suspicions. Is my intuition right? Is he? Can this product truly cause more enamel damage? It would be so much easier to ignore my intuition's protests and blindly use this delicious product but my fear is great here. I don't want to lose any more teeth. Although I did get some other xylitol products, to put this on my teeth after brushing them seems like it would defeat the purpose. I give this 5 stars for taste and great marketing, for the rest: I'm as much in the dark as anyone else. Question everything. I hope I'm wrong; dare I find out at the expense of all my teeth? My answer is no.
