Partially oxidized tea yielding a mild aromatic flavor between that of black and green tea. Oolong tea is commonly served as the house tea in chinese restaurants in the US.

Oolong tea contains a large quantity of polyphenol. According to research, it has become clear that polyphenol is the ingredient that generates the delicious flavor unique to oolong tea and also promotes beauty and health.

Suggested Use

Hot Tea Brewing Method:

Oolongs teas are best enjoyed when the leaves are briefly infused with hot water which is then poured off. The tea is then reinfused and tea is poured to the lucky guests after about 1 minute. The leaves may be reinfused several times, with each resulting infusion yielding a different liquor from the proceeding cup.

Iced Tea Brewing Method:

(Makes 1 quart). Place 6 teaspoons of Oolong into a heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into the pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste.

Excellent Black Dragon Oolong Tea

Posted by 5223273244529273216 on Jan 05, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I have no complaints about this delicious black dragon oolong tea. If you want GREEN oolong, don't buy BLACK (40% oxidized) oolong tea. The taste is completely different. Black oolong is sweet and strong, and green oolong is grassier and floral. This is best brewed at around 85 degrees Celsius. I highly recommend this tea.

Very happy with this!

This is a wonderful Oolong! Upon opening, it had a nice scent and seems very fresh. It's the typical brown tea (resembling a gunpowder tea) and it has a nice, Oolong flavor. I like my tea strong and this fits the bill. Just a little bit unfurls upon steeping to a huge volume of nice, whole leaves. Before I ordered, I noticed there were only 2 reviews in my language (English), both negative. But one of them says "I expected the typical green leaves" and since Oolong is not supposed to be green (since it's partially oxidized) I ignored that and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did, as it's a great tea especially at this price. Recommended!

Not what I expected...

I'm not satisfied at all with this Oolong tea. It is everything else but not chineese Oolong tea. I expected the typical green leaves but I found something like brown wooden chips instead. I'm very disappointed I woudn't recommend this product.
