From the corners of the earth, to the bottom of your teacup, we're preserving tradition and creating a sustainable future. For over 30 years we have been making herbal teas blending the ancient art of traditional herbal medicine with the most modern methods to ensure you a consistently effective and good tasting cup.
We know that you choose to live as if there is a tomorrow, as we do. That's why we purchase our herbs and manufacture our teas sustainably. Whether it's working with a cooperative of herb collector's, supporting organic herb farmers or using 100 % wind power to offset our electricity use, we believe that teas that are good for you should be good for the earth.
What is Hojicha?
The most well known Japanese green tea variety is known as "Bancha." Hojicha is made by roasting Bancha leaves at a high temperature until they turn reddish-brown and take on a strong aromatic fragrance and roasted flavor. Why use Green tea? It is well known that tea in all of its forms, black, green, roasted and white, has significant antioxidant action. Aging, stress and inhaling polluted air can cause an imbalance of free radicals vs. antioxidant substances, both produced naturally in the body. By including foods or teas with antioxidant action in your diet, you can help restore balance, slowing down and protecting against degenerative processes in the body. How does it taste? Pleasantly nutty and smoky with slightly bitter and astringent undertones. Add a slice of lemon or orange if desired.
Suggested Use
Directions: Brew Well to be Well
For maximum benefit, tea must be properly prepared. Pour 8 oz. freshly boiled water over a tea bag in a cup. Cover cup and steep 5-10 minutes. These steps directly influence the amount of beneficial components that will end up in your teacup! Gently squeeze the tea bag to release any remaining extract. Drink 3 cups or more daily.
For an extra strength brew, use two teabags or brew up a whole pot using four or five teabags.
Warnings
If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.
