The 'Date first available' on the NOW Psyllium husk powder ranges from 2007 - 2011. Does it mean the product was manufactured during this period. If so, this is really old stock. Please comment

I'm pretty sure that just means when that particular brand of that product became available.

Yes. In fact, I bought this product because it was an ingredient needed for a gluten-free bread recipe.

Psyllium husk is best used in smoothies or shakes, but also is great in baked goods that do not call for gluten or other wheat products. Maybe you can use it for other recipes, but other than that, don't expect delicious flavors with plain psyllium husk. Get Metamucil if you expect something palatable.

If i want to use in bakery, which one should I use, whole or powder? Thank you.

Best Answer
I would recommend the powder for baking. The whole is grainy and may cause your baked goods to have a grainy, gritty texture.

May I ask is it possible to use it on animal or only for human?

I have used this product on my cat for her diarrhea, but only a small amount. If planning to use on a 10lb adult cat, slowly introduce it to your cat. I suggest using 1/8 teaspoon twice a day for no more than a week or two. Be sure to provide lots of water for your cat (most effective way of doing this is to feed your cat wet food with some water added), as even the bottle states that humans should make sure to drink plenty of additional fluids throughout the day.
