My 5 year old daughter was prescribed 3mg over 1 year ago. It worked well but now I've been told she can go up a dose from her paediatrician as its taking alot longer for her to sleep or not working at all. I usually get it made up from the compound chemist. Its not slow release. At times it can work within 10 minutes. Is this a slow release product? Which one would be best to buy for fast action?

I have a 6 year old, soon to be 7 year old daughter who has ADHD. She takes dex throughout the day but only has a very small amount in the afyernoon which means by bedtime it's out of her system and she struggles to fall asleep because she can't switch off. She was also prescribed melatonin at 5mg and I purchased some compound ones in Aust to try them out. I was giving it to hwr an hour before bed and she was peacefully falling asleep at bestime. I purchased a product off iherb for her to try which was 'now melatonin 3mg' because it onlu contains melatonin and this product contains B6 which you need to be careful with. The now 3mg melatonin worked great for her last night, again, I gave it to her an hour before bed. Maybe look at an iherb melatonon 5mg with nothing else in it and purchase a few different ones to try. That's what I did because they are much cheaper than Australia hope that helps

You might try a fast dissolving type that would work fast or a time-released one.

Our now 10yr old son with ADHD was prescribed 2mg Circadin (over 12mths ago) but it is expensive so our Paed recommended the 3mg Time Release Melatonin from iHerb. It has been going great. However the last couple of months we have noticed it wasn’t as effective. So I’ve done some researched & moved him up to the 5mg. I would think if your paed says she can move up then do it. iHerb have both 3mg & 5mg Time Release.

We use the 5mg Gummy as our 7 year old won't take tablets. It works well for him. I have seen a 5mg tablet that's not time release on iherb in the same brand. Good luck.
