Since this product contains ALA which is very dangerous to take (when not according to half-life in small doses, e.i. according to the work of dr. Andrew Cutler) if you have any level av mercury toxicity (which everybody has to some degree), wouldn't this product be far more damaging than helpful?

Alpha lipoic Acid (ALA) is very safe. It is a potent antioxidant which effectively rids the body of harmful toxins. The most common toxins are mercury, lead, and petroleum.Once ALA is present in the body, the antioxidant glutathione, produced by the cells , can attach to the toxins and escort them out of the body. Therefore, there is no need to be concerned about mercury levels when taking ALA. The ALA dose is roughly 4mg per kilogram of body weight once daily on an empty stomach.

I cannot answer the question definitively. I would probably check with a Chemist, Biologist , or Endocrinologist . I have been using the product for about 15 years with no known side-effects. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I have no idea. It was recommended by two specialists and I've been using it for the past eleven years. I don't have any idea whether it is more damaging than helpful. Keep fit and healthy so you will not need ALA.
