A Probiotic That Actually Works

Posted by iHerb Customer on Sep 30, 2017 | Verified Purchase

Bacillus Coagulans (aka Sporogenes) survives stomach acid because of being in a state of bacterial “spores”. The spores germinate so to speak further down in the large intestine, after which this beneficial bacteria works its magic. Therefore, this product does not need refrigeration and the capsules do not need to be enteric-coated. Doctors Best brand is equivalent in potency to Thorne, but you’re saving more than nine dollars with Doctors Best. I’ve used both, and they perform equally well in my opinion. This works well in combination with S. Boulardi beneficial yeast if you need an emergency fix for GI distress. Or of course, it works well on its own. By the way, if you read the label on GT Synergy beverage, you will see that the probiotic strain in that beverage is of the same general type as in these capsules: Bacillus Coagulans. The cost of each of these capsules is considerably less than cost of a bottle of GT Synergy.

LactoSpore is a clinically-researched strain of Bacillus Coagulans, a lactic-acid producing probiotic. It is in spore form so it can survive stomach acid. It germinates in the gut and inhibits bad bacteria there.
