When you buy vitamin D supplements watch out for cheap brands that use D2 instead of cholecalciferol aka D3. I've done my research and D2 is poorly absorbed so much more (I've read up to 4 times as much) is needed for the same effect and taking that much could lead to Vitamin D toxicity. Stick with good ol' safe D3 and even better get some sun on your skin as much as possible and save the supplement for winter or days when you just can't get outside. This product is sourced from lanolin. I have been taking Vitamin D3 for years. I decided to try this brand instead of my regular brand because of iHerb's great prices for it. It took me over 3 weeks of upset stomach and breaking out with rashes on my chest before I finally traced the cause back to this Vitamin D product. Once I quit taking it, all symptoms disappeared.

This has a huge dose of vitamin D per capsule! Too much in my opinion but the price is super low (good thing of course :D)
