Dosage is high but good if you need to raise a vitamin D level. Besides during the winter this product could be necessary to many people. I've been using 1000 IU tablets (~ 4000 IU/day) to get my vitD in blood from 25ng/ml to 42ng/ml. To get best results from usage of vitD I want to raise this level a little bit more - so 5000 IU seems to be the right amount during the winter time. I've been reading a lot about benefits of using vitamin D and now strongly believe that it's one of the best supplements. Don’t be afraid of high dosage - it's fine during the long winter months with very little sunshine.

The softgels are small and easy to swallow. I also like, that the filler is pure cold pressed olive oil. The bottle was deform when it arrived, but the package wasn't damaged, so it must have happened either at iHerb or during manufactoring. It's not a problem as such, as the safety seal was intact and the product seems OK. The bottle is relatively small, but it could easily have been even smaller to help the environment, since the small softgels only cover the bottom. I take one softgel every day. I take mine in the morning, because vitamin D is also known to affect daytime/nighttime rhythm. I'm perfectly happy with it, and will purchase again when it runs low. ======================================================================================================= In modern life with indoor work, most people rarely expose their skin to the sun. It is suggested, that 80% of americans (and probably the rest of the world as well) are deficient i vitamin D, with severe health damage. Most adults should supplement with at least 2000 IU per day at summertime, and at least 4000 IU at winter. ======================================================================================================= Click my name KurtJacobsen ▲ at the top of this review (blue text) to visit my profile and learn more, thanks! ======================================================================================================= iHerb.com has become my favorite place to shop supplements, and I'm not alone, because iHerb has been named #1 online supplement store by ConsumerLab.com the last 6 years in a row! I've been using them for quite some time, and there have never been any problems whatsoever. For customers from outside USA (like me) I recommend the delivery option "Global Priority Mail by DHL". It is incredibly cheap at just 4$, and I always receive the goods here in Denmark (4000 miles away) within 6-8 days. Please also note that chances are high that you will NOT pay any additional custom duties and taxes, when "Global Priority Mail by DHL" is used. ======================================================================================================= I spend a lot of time writing reviews, so if you found this one helpful, please let me know by clicking the “helpful”-button below the review. I've taken this product because D3 is highly recommended and the size is quite small. Though it smells weird, quite different from other supplements I have taken in the past. DOn't know if it's a faulty product or it's natural character. I am running out of it and will get another batch pretty soon so will figure it out...
