I can't see the connection with cous-cous, which in my eyes is very fine-grained, and has an entirely different flavour. This is more like gelatinous rice. It's easy to cook (I did so in a rice cooker) and tastes quite bland, which can be a good thing. If you don't like the semi-soft texture, you might want to cook it for the absolute minumum time.
