This is a favored tool that I now own thanks to Iherb.com. If you are a serious tea drinker you should own it too. It's the best way that I now to take advantage of high quality loose tea. It's well designed and crafted – made of stainless steel. So, durability is not a question. When I steep a cup of tea, the water drains away from the loose tea quickly and I am not left holding the brewer for long. I place the brewer chamber into the up-turned lid and I'm fully satisfied. I use this brewer to make rooibus tisane in a 6 quart, oval crockpot. I fill the brewer chamber half full, place the lid on top, set the filled brewer in the middle of the crockpot and I fill the crock with water. I let the tea steep on low for 8 hours. I drink this infusion warm or cool. Through this low-vigilance preparation process – I have enough tisane to last me for a while – I store the cooled brew in the refrigerator. If I want it warm, I warm it up. In either case, I may add a little agave nectar for sweetening. Rooibus is said to be the highest antioxidant drink on the planet. To maximize my antioxidant load, I add Madre Labs Eureka Berries to the cooled brew and agave. This way, I hydrate myself well, AND I protect the vitality of my cells, while adding great flavor to my life. To see my review of Eureka Berries, click on the “The3Treasures” link above. I am serious about improving and maintaining a high quality of life and Iherb.com offers the products, food, and tools that I need to do so.

before i bought this one i used the inside of an old s.steel pitcher i had for brewing, but it was not as rigid and small mesh as this one is,which prevents most of the herb to leak into the cup.i use this everyday and looks like it will last forever, once a month steer a tbsp of citric acid inside a cup with hot water and put the brewer inside to clean all the residue on it....you are welcome to rate & read my other reviews
