Niacin Flush

Be prepared for the niacin flush even when taken with food, that lasts at least a half hour which feels like a sunburn. I trust the this is a good product and appreciate the simple ingredients. Will continue to use as this is the form of niacin that cuts down on cholesterol level.

Helps with my alcohol problem (reduces the craving). Also sleep better. Wish they made a lower dose though because I don't always want to take 500 mg. at a time.

works exactly like expensive perscription Niaspan to increase HDL

Posted by Reviewer1694531 From Virginia on Jun 27, 2010

My husband takes niacin to increase his HDL. Niacin along with plant sterols have brought his HDL up from 24 to 49. He was originally perscribed Niaspan from his PCP but we decided to stop paying $50 per month for a perscriptioned vitamin. This product is plain niacin like Niaspan. My only complaint is the gelatin capsule. I wish it were plant origin and not animal. This product causes flushing but if you take it along with bioflavoids like quercetin and artichoke, the flushing is much decreased, according to my husband.
