Oh my god! Why don't I ever pay attention to the signs of divine intervention? I saw this was on clearance, thought "Great, it's cheap!" I got a warning that in California, they can't sell this product without telling you it has possibly harmful levels of lead. I thought "Bah. California worries too much. Everything is bad for you these days!" Oh, but these were signs...I should've listened.
The one thing you can't talk yourself passed is the flavor. It's like they got a focus group to try out different flavors, and kept throwing away any that scored high. "Orange Brainwash" is appropriate, as this flavor seems scientifically designed to make you want to scrub your brain until you don't remember ever trying this stuff. It tastes like embalming fluid mixed with citronella insect repellent.
I lied, there's a second thing you can't get passed. The texture. I shook this up in cool water. It laughed in my face and sat on the surface like a chalky oil slick. I used room temperature water and a more vigorous shaking effort. Looked fairly successful, until I actually tried drinking it and found that the chalk particles were merely lying low until they could scrape the sides of my throat by surprise. Finally, I tried warm water and frantic blending. This mostly works, but you're always left with residue at the bottom of the shaker. Good. Less I have to drink.
I have resorted to cutting this with half of another pre-workout powder to make it drinkable. Oh, yeah, I'm still going to drink it. I'm far too cheap to throw it out. You won't defeat me, Orange Brainwash! Who's laughing now!?
Am considering cutting this with black tar heroin once other pre-workout powder runs out. Will update you.
